Happy Blue Wednesday!
Good Blue Wednesday everyone! I’m glad to have you here and hope you find some new tunes to enjoy today.
For anyone new, here’s how Blue Wednesday works. It starts with me sharing a few of my favorite blues songs and then asking you fine people to share your favorite blues songs with me. As songs are shared, they’re added to Blue Wednesday playlists on Spotify and YouTube. We added eight great songs to the playlist last week. Let’s see how many we can add today!
Always Hunting
Regular readers know I’m always looking for new music to share and today will, once again, be full of songs that I’ve only discovered recently.
First up is Marc Broussard, an artist already well-represented on our playlists. The song, “Cuttin’ In” starts with a classic guitar wail and has a very classic blues sound. The lyrics tell the age-old story of a man trying to win his woman back. And Broussard’s vocals are nothing to sleep on. Enjoy!
The next song up today is by an artist new to our playlist; a mister Ash Minor. I can’t find much about this young man but his Spotify bio says he aims to merge the sounds of soul, RnB, blues, and rock. Based on what I’ve heard so far, he’s doing a decent job. Check out his song, “Like A Dove.”
While I wouldn’t say Minor is a new favorite artist of mine, he’s got something I like. He’s a bit unpolished and seems to want to honor the forms of music that have formed him. I respect the hustle.
The song itself has a pretty solid guitar and makes for a pleasant listen. I’ll definitely be looking up more of his music in the future.
Change to Blue Wednesday
And now a bit of an announcement; I’ve decided to make a change to Blue Wednesday.
While I very much enjoy discovering new music and love the interaction of Blue Wednesdays, publishing once a week has become a bit too much. My new role at work and ever-changing routines at home have forced me to make some changes and Blue Wednesday is going to have to be one of them. So, Blue Wednesdays will now be published on the last Wednesday of the month.
Seriously, thank you to my regular readers and contributors to Blue Wednesday. One of my goals in starting a substack was to write about music and these posts have allowed me to do that. BUT, I mostly started Seeking The Narrow to write about Jesus and I do feel that I’ve been lacking in that aspect for a little while now. So the cutback in Blue Wednesday is also aimed at increasing my reflections on culture, faith, and my still-going journey toward Catholicism. Please continue to pray for me and my family as we continually seek to draw closer to Christ.
Your Turn
Now it’s your turn to share some songs with me. I hope you enjoy my two suggestions for today and am looking forward to our next Blue Wednesday, set for June 26.
Thanks for reading and have a blessed week.
Here’s my contribution for the week!
“I Don’t Need No Doctor” as performed by John Mayer.
At some point the entirety of this album will be on this playlist haha

I’m gonna continue with your trend. Here’s Marc Broussard with the best guitarist in the world (in my humble opinion), Joe Bonamassa. I’ll miss this every week foray into the blues world, but Jesus definitely takes precedence.
