So I found this awesome chicago blues playlist on youtube, I wanted to share a specific song but apparently "Ode to Billy Joe" is an INTENSELY POPULAR COUNTRY SONG but I first heard it on this mix, and I love the chicago bluesiness of this version. I don't know who sang it and for the life of me I can't find it amid allllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll the Bobbie Gentry covers.
This is a short piece and it's really a flute piano duet, but it's from Star Trek: The Next Generation, "The Inner Light", and it's just absolutely lovely.
Pour the gin, lemon juice, and simple syrup into a shaker filled with ice and shake for 10 seconds. Open pour the whole thing into a Collins glass and top with soda water.
My favorite gin cocktail is The Last Word.
3/4 oz. gin
3/4 oz. maraschino liquor
3/4 oz. green chartreuse
3/4 oz. lime juice
Pour ingredients into shaker with ice, shake for 10 seconds, and strain into a chilled glass.
If you want something stirred, the Negroni.
1.5 oz. gin
3/4 oz. campari
3/4 oz. sweet vermouth
Pour ingredients into a mixing glass with ice and stir for about 30 seconds, and strain into a rocks glass. Big chunk of ice optional.
No hunting songs for me this week. Just gathering two stone cold classics of blues rock.

Here is my first contribution for this week. Ray’s Blues!
Here’s my second one!! “Bird in A Cage” by Otis Spann
Discovered this one this morning and knew I had to share it.
Also, thank you for reminding me of Oh Mississippi. It’s been years since I heard that song and I forgot how much I love it!
