I was brought up Anglican and had a similar experience with the creed. I wondered how all the people around me could say they believed in the holy Catholic Church and the communion of saints while at the same time despising Catholic who believed and practised both? Baffling to me.
Such a great post, thanks for writing your testimony. Sometimes what seems like a small prayer or a sacramental becomes a channel of grace. For you it was the Credo, for me it was the brown Scapular.

Even as a cradle Catholic, it resonates so much with my experience of God's gentle guidance, reassurance as we seek the Kingdom, and the wonderful blessing of the communion of saints. I honestly don't think I'd have even half the joy and courage I now possess without my brothers' and sisters' prayerful intercession.
